About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EVS Assistant Shift Manager to join our team at Hollywood Casino Joliet. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and maintenance in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of EVS staff to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance operations.
  • Inspect assigned areas to provide feedback to management and team members on cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Provide training, coaching, and counseling to EVS team members to assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, and compliance goals.
  • Ensure a high level of guest service and promote a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for our guests and team members.
  • Manage maintenance requests, control and account for EVS keys, and review workflow and staffing levels.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings with staff to communicate marketing promotions, company news updates, and policy/procedure changes.
  • Investigate and resolve guest complaints or concerns in accordance with company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Delegate emergency and non-emergency calls for EVS as needed.
  • Conduct daily performance reviews for all areas through hands-on supervision.
  • Monitor attendance and take corrective action as needed.
  • Schedule department staff for proper coverage in all areas according to business needs.
  • Train or retrain team members.
  • Administer frontline reviews.
  • Motivate top performance through positive coaching and administer corrective counseling when necessary.
  • Inventories departmental supplies/uniforms and requisitions as needed for all areas.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 23 years of management experience in a guest service environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of professional EVS procedures is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Must understand and speak the English language.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee requires manual dexterity to operate all necessary equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs., occasionally.
