About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Drainage Engineer to join our team in Metro Detroit, Michigan, or Cleveland, Columbus, or Cincinnati, Ohio.

Job Summary: As a key member of our team, you will perform civil design calculations, computer modeling, detailing, and plan set production for highway, roadway, sitework, drainage, detention/retention, and utilities projects with an emphasis on hydrology and hydraulics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct drainage design per project requirements and client specifications
  • Prepare drainage reports, feasibility studies, and drainage master plans utilizing drainage software – StormCAD, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, HYPoack, and MS4 solutions
  • Utilize hydrology/hydraulic software – HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and SWMM
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and serve as an expert to highway and bridge designers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan or Ohio depending on location (preferably both)
  • Previous professional experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and drainage design for state department of transportation projects
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
  • Efficiently utilize time in executing assigned tasks accurately and on time
