The role of a Transportation Planning Specialist is crucial in shaping the infrastructure of a region. As part of their growing team, they are seeking an experienced Transportation/Roadway Engineer to join their Transportation Planning and Design team.

Key Responsibilities

You will assist with all aspects of project development, including design and plan preparation using drafting and engineering design techniques. Typical projects involve design or redesign of highways/roadways, interchange design, drainage design, plan reviews, and coordination with public regulatory agencies and utility companies. You will gain experience on a wide variety of projects, including large-scale roadway design projects and city/township/county projects, offering a unique scope.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, experience in roadway design and ODOT plan preparation, hands-on design and drafting experience using Microstation/Open Roads/Geopak, and a working knowledge in roadway vertical and horizontal geometric design in accordance with ODOT and AASHTO standards, roadway drainage design and BMP design, and common constructability issues.
