Energy and Sustainability Program Manager

Position Overview
As a Lead Specialist in Energy and Sustainability, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing innovative energy and climate initiatives. Your efforts will contribute to significant energy savings and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, addressing some of the most pressing challenges in the energy sector today.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients and team members to formulate local, regional, and national strategies aimed at enhancing market engagement and participation in energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
- Create effective communication and outreach materials, including newsletters, case studies, website content, webinars, and live events.
- Engage with industrial energy and sustainability managers to promote program participation.
- Assist in partner recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support to optimize program involvement.
- Maintain comprehensive records within a customer relationship management system.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis on energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, and sustainability policies.
- Support project management activities, including deliverables, staffing, and budget oversight.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, public policy, science, business, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in energy and sustainability programs within commercial and public sectors.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to devise strategic solutions to client challenges.
- Experience in energy efficiency initiatives for industrial or commercial settings.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and self-driven motivation.
- Analytical proficiency and adeptness with personal computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Master's degree in environmental studies, public policy, science, business, or a related field.
- Experience with public sector buildings or as part of an energy efficiency service provider.
- Proficient in writing reports, articles, case studies, or other communication materials.
- Background in energy and emissions analysis.
- Ability to work independently with clients.
- Familiarity with ENERGY STAR, DOE Better Buildings/Better Plants, LEED, and other sustainability tools.
- Experience in developing and delivering public-private partnership programs.
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software systems.
