Position Overview:
ICF is in search of a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Senior Energy and Sustainability Specialist. This role is essential for assisting our federal government clients in the advancement and implementation of their energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Energy and Sustainability Specialist, you will:
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to formulate local, regional, and national strategies aimed at enhancing market engagement and participation in voluntary energy and decarbonization initiatives.
  • Create communication materials, outreach strategies, and training resources, which may include newsletters, case studies, website content, webinars, and in-person events.
  • Conduct outreach efforts directed at industrial energy and sustainability managers.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and continuous assistance of partners to optimize program participation.
  • Maintain comprehensive records within a customer relationship management system.
  • Perform research and analysis on energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, and decarbonization programs and policies.
  • Assist with project management tasks, including deliverables, staffing, and budget oversight.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, public policy, science, business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in energy and sustainability programs within commercial and public sectors.

Professional Skills:
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to devise strategic solutions for client challenges.
  • Experience in energy efficiency initiatives for industrial or commercial facilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
  • A Master's degree in environmental studies, public policy, science, business, or a related field.
  • Experience with public sector buildings or energy efficiency service providers.
  • Proficiency in writing reports, articles, case studies, or other communication materials.
  • Experience in energy and emissions analysis.
  • Familiarity with ENERGY STAR, DOE Better Buildings/Better Plants, LEED, and other efficiency/sustainability tools.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software systems.
