Dean of Social Work Leadership Opportunity

The Commonwealth of Virginia invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the School of Social Work. As a key member of the university's senior leadership team, the Dean will play a critical role in shaping the future of the school and advancing the university's mission.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership in academic, research, and fund-development activities for one of the largest accredited, comprehensive social work programs in the U.S.
- Contribute to the university's new strategic plan, Quest 2028, which emphasizes a rich academic environment driven by diversity, equity, and inclusion-centered action, student success, collaborative research and innovation, and deep, meaningful community engagement.
- Lead the recruitment and retention of faculty, extending a high standard of excellence in teaching, research, and service.
- Manage the resources of the school, including its academic programs, faculty, staff, students, facilities, and budget.
- Support the university's development initiatives and lead that effort within the School of Social Work and among its constituents.
- Ensure continued focus on student success, providing services and support to ensure their academic and professional growth.
- Recognize, reward, and facilitate participation in high-level research activities, and foster an environment of innovative curricular and teaching practices.
