Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia invites applications for the position of Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, School of Nursing. This is a key leadership role that will provide strategic direction and oversight for the academic programs within the School of Nursing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning: Provide leadership and strategic direction for the academic programs within the School of Nursing, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and goals.
  • Academic Program Development: Develop and implement academic programs that meet the needs of the nursing profession and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Faculty and Staff Management: Supervise and manage faculty and staff within the School of Nursing, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Curriculum Development and Evaluation: Develop and evaluate curricula for academic programs, ensuring they meet the needs of the nursing profession and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure that academic programs meet accreditation and compliance standards, both internally and externally.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between the School of Nursing and other university departments, as well as with external stakeholders, to promote collaboration and communication.
Requirements
  • Education: A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in academic administration, with a focus on program development and evaluation.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
