Job Summary

Granite Construction is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator - Grader to join our team. As a Grader Operator, you will be responsible for operating a grader to spread and level materials such as gravel, stone, and dirt to prepare and construct roads.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a grader in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company safety standards.
  • Align the machine, cutterhead, or depth gauge marker with reference stakes and guidelines on the ground.
  • Conduct equipment inspections to maintain proper working condition.
  • Read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work in dusty or dirty surroundings.
  • Follow instructions and meet set standards.
  • Judge distances and slopes accurately.
  • Make decisions based on verifiable standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Proper certification required.
  • Appropriate training and experience required.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and crouch.
  • Use hands, arms, and legs fully.
  • See well (either naturally or with correction).
  • Lift up to 25 pounds.
