Superintendent - Heavy Civil Construction - Northwest District

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Superintendent to lead our heavy civil construction projects in the Northwest District. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and managing project timelines.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor and develop fellow Kiewit staff to achieve their full potential
- Review and approve labor rates for Foremen, journeymen, and laborers
- Manage contract administration, including subcontractor and field management meetings
- Develop and implement a program to maintain good client relations
- Initiate and attend meetings with clients to resolve issues and plan projects
- Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
- Review, approve, and negotiate change orders
- Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
- Maintain a daily diary for record-keeping purposes
- Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports
- Recommend organizational, policy, and procedural changes as needed
- Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foreman
- 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role overseeing projects such as roads, bridges, dams, water/wastewater treatment plants, etc.
- Previous knowledge/experience in heavy civil construction settings required
- Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements, and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings, and other documents
- Experience with heavy equipment, earthwork, utilities, traffic control, paving, and signage
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance
- A valid driver's license
- Willingness to relocate temporarily for training or permanently on an as-needed basis
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications for railroad/transit construction and maintenance requirements
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines, work overtime and weekends as required
