Position Overview

The J.R. Simplot Company, a leading global food and agriculture organization, is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst. Our headquarters is located in Boise, Idaho, and we pride ourselves on our comprehensive farm-to-table operations that encompass food processing, agriculture, and related industries.

Role Summary

This role involves leveraging advanced subject matter expertise to address both routine and intricate business challenges within established frameworks. The analyst will be responsible for tackling projects of varying complexity, necessitating thorough assessments of multiple factors. The position requires independent judgment within broadly defined policies to determine optimal methods for achieving objectives. The analyst may also lead teams, offering guidance and facilitating decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in development teams.
  • Analyze complex functional and business requirements.
  • Prepare code frameworks for team members and complete coding tasks to implement solutions.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration and lead design initiatives.
  • Design, execute, and oversee unit testing.
  • Act as a representative for the team to clients and customers.
  • Exhibit technical leadership and influence beyond the immediate team.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of teams by applying extensive technical knowledge.
  • Design solutions and apply appropriate technologies for complex infrastructure and software needs.
  • Implement user or enterprise-level infrastructure or services of significant complexity.
  • Integrate technical expertise with business acumen to deliver superior solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and consultative support to team members and external partners on complex issues.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year institution.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and/or training.

Certifications

Relevant certifications are preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Information

Candidates should possess over five years of experience in data management and model development. Proficiency in SQL, Python, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI, Databricks, data modeling, and software development cycles is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team, are required. Demonstrated technical leadership capabilities are also crucial.
