Job Title: Controller

The Planet Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing daily accounting activities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and providing financial guidance to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily accounting and reporting for RNA, including general accounting, sales, and bank reconciliations.
  • Direct the development, staffing, and training of the accounting department to maximize individual contribution towards company goals.
  • Supervise 2 direct reports and provide guidance on accounting processes and procedures.
  • Support HR with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate monthly and annual close processes, including financial commentary and liquidity reporting.
  • Lead and manage annual review, compliance, and tax reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly forecast, annual budgets, and presentations.
  • Ensure company compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and assist with interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • 5-10 years of accounting experience, including several years at the Controller level.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines independently and as part of a team.
  • Desire to continue learning and improving skill sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
