The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a highly skilled Patient Liaison Coordinator to join our Executive Services team at Mt Sinai Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in coordinating and navigating care for patients coming to our health system for treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate Medical Services: Plan, refer, and coordinate medical services for Executive Services patients accessing the Mount Sinai Health System.
- Client Communication: Greet Executive Services clients in person or via telephone, and update their demographics in the department management system.
- Cultivate Customer Relationships: Cultivate and maintain professional customer service relationships within the health system.
- Verify Visit Details: Verify visit details with the patient or family prior to arrival or, at minimum, at time of arrival before visit.
- Navigate Patients: Navigate patient and family members to and from appointments.
- Communicate with Staff: Communicate all required detail to appropriate parties regarding patient's arrival, and ensure that the medical record is available for the physician.
- Process HIPAA-Related Paperwork: Process HIPAA-related paperwork and other institutional forms as required, maintaining a high degree of accuracy and appropriate filing.
- Customer Satisfaction: Perform customer satisfaction rounding with patients when admitted.
- Schedule Follow-up Appointments: Schedule patient follow-up appointment(s) as needed. Provide patient with guidelines for requesting medical records and other paperwork.
- Basic Charge Entry: Perform basic charge entry tasks.
- Answer Phones: Answer phones for department and coordinate inquires with appropriate team members or departments.
- Compliance: Follow all HIPAA and any other governmental or state agency requirements regarding the appropriate handling of PHI documents.
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years' experience, preferably in a health care facility/physician practice environment.
- Language Proficiency: Must be fluent and proficient in Arabic.
