The Electrical Engineering Program within the Department of Physics at California State University San Marcos is seeking a part-time instructor for the upcoming semester to teach EE 310: Electric Power and Energy Systems. The selected candidate will work closely with the primary instructor and oversee the laboratory component of the course.
Course Overview:
This course encompasses fundamental principles of AC systems, including single-phase and three-phase circuits, transformers, transmission lines, electric power generators, AC and DC motors, energy conversion, and electric machinery.
Qualifications Required:
- A master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Prior teaching experience in electrical engineering or a relevant subject area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching VHDL or Verilog Programming for Xilinx, or similar engineering courses.
- Professional or research experience in the Electrical Engineering field.
- Familiarity with ABET reporting processes.
- A demonstrated commitment to engaging undergraduates through research-informed teaching practices.
Preference will be given to candidates who show a strong commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and intercultural competence in their teaching approaches.
Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with the level of education and experience, with an anticipated hiring salary range of $4,639 - $5,075 per full-time month. The CSU classification salary range is $4,530 - $6,056 per full-time month.
