About the Job

We are seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to lead the development of our gigawatt-scale battery electrical and controls systems. This role will own the design and implementation of Peak's electrical systems, working closely with design and manufacturing teams, as well as external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and integration of Peak's HV ESS from early development through continuous improvement.
  • Develop and integrate battery management, power conversion, and supervisory control modules.
  • Contribute to the development of tools, infrastructure, and design practices for a growing team.
  • Develop and manage electrical component requirements.
  • Ensure the success of testing, system integration, production, validation, and production of Peak products.
  • Drive and participate in a culture of rapid prototyping and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience working with HV systems.
  • Strong electrical and controls engineering fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with high voltage system design.
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering tools (e.g., SPICE, Altium, Matlab).
  • Experience with design and manufacturing of medium to high volume products.
  • Hands-on prototyping, validation, and testing experience.
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of battery chemistry, BMS, and relevant electrical and safety standards.
  • Power electronics design experience.
  • Supervisory control design experience.
  • Utility-scale energy storage systems experience.
