Overview
The Product Commercialization Expert will collaborate with a dedicated team of specialists to manage and implement the commercialization process throughout all stages of a product's lifecycle as directed by the product management team. The primary objective is to ensure that products are ready for production and marketable to customers within the timelines established by product management.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will play a vital role in the development of Bills of Material, as well as the creation and oversight of Engineering Change Requests and Sales Action Requests, ensuring efficient workflow management.
- Utilizes comprehensive product knowledge to interpret, establish, and/or generate material requirements, including material numbers, structure, quote text, and document information records such as artwork and source control drawings.
- Facilitates the development of Bills of Material (BOM) to ensure manufacturability and market readiness.
- Oversees the creation and management of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs): adding appropriate text, attaching necessary documents, and ensuring timely workflow responses.
- Manages requests for the commercialization of materials for sale (Sales Action Requests): entering and validating product master data, ensuring information quality, and maintaining timely workflow responses.
- Coordinates work process flows by proactively engaging with related operational departments, providing insights and recommendations to business teams.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with 2-5 years of experience in a professional environment. Exposure to manufacturing processes is advantageous.
- Demonstrated proficiency in SAP at a transactional level, particularly in Product Life Management (PLM), Materials Management (MM), and Engineering Change Management (ECM).
- A strong understanding of manufacturing and marketing frameworks, or familiarity with the product development process from inception to market.
- Values both independent work and collaborative teamwork.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders in product commercialization.
- Capable of learning and utilizing automation scripts for mass material creation in SAP.
- Advanced computer skills applicable to new project management tools (e.g., SmartSheet).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Excel, and Word.
