Furniture Sales and Operations Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Furniture Sales and Operations professional to join our team at Big Lots Stores. As a Furniture Sales and Operations expert, you will be responsible for leading the furniture team and driving furniture sales. This role requires strong leadership and operational skills, as well as excellent customer service and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the furniture team and drive furniture sales
  • Accountable for the furniture department's overall performance, including furniture merchandising, presentation, and recovery standards
  • Work collaboratively with store leadership to accomplish furniture sales and operational goals and tasks
  • Provide clear work direction and coaching to furniture sales team members
  • Assist customers with product information, selection, and purchase
  • Manage the price hold process, including weekly audits
  • Maintain furniture department inventory, including cycle counts
  • Identify furniture display needs and develop plans for furniture department coverage during special events
  • Strive to continually improve the furniture department's sales and ensure merchandising and presentation standards are maintained

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum one-year retail sales experience preferred
  • Demonstrated furniture merchandising and sales skills preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills required
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds required
  • Availability to work a variable schedule of at least 30 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays required
