Job Overview

Are you skilled in negotiation and adept at assisting clients while reducing outstanding debts? We are in search of a proficient and experienced Collections Specialist. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of debt recovery techniques, outstanding negotiation abilities, and the capacity to manage intricate and sensitive financial matters. This position plays a vital role in decreasing overdue accounts while upholding the company's high service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of outstanding receivables.
  • Engage with clients regarding overdue payments through phone calls and written correspondence, with phone interactions being a significant part of daily tasks.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for negotiating with clients, addressing disputes, and resolving issues to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Approach sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism, ensuring a positive representation of the company.
  • Conduct research on client activities using proprietary systems and online resources.
  • Efficiently navigate between various browsers, internet platforms, and proprietary systems.
  • Maintain robust relationships with all clients and third-party contacts.
  • Manage complex accounts and challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Possess skills in mathematics, accounting, or financial analysis.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in collections, particularly with high-risk or significantly overdue accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve intricate issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable handling a high volume of calls.
  • Proficient in collections software and the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be located in the Austin, Texas Metro area with the ability to commute to the office as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with financial services or real estate is advantageous but not mandatory.

Core Working Hours:

9 am – 6 pm (CST), Monday – Friday, with no weekend work.

Additional Information:

This role is primarily remote with a hybrid model. In-office attendance is required twice a month. Initial training will take place on-site for approximately two weeks. A reliable internet connection is essential for a full workday involving data entry, phone calls, and video conferencing. The selected candidate must also have a dedicated home office space that is free from distractions to ensure confidentiality of work products.
