POSITION SUMMARY:
The Grants Coordinator is tasked with the strategic design and implementation of programs, projects, and initiatives that align with the mission of the Behavioral Health Services Department while securing grant funding. This role emphasizes grant administration, research, application processes, documentation, audit preparedness, project planning, and comprehensive grant management. The position also involves overseeing financial compliance and grant budget activities, as well as contributing to the planning of programs, policies, or objectives within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage grant and special projects, including project planning, research, budget development, and project closure.
- Prepare and submit grant applications.
- Develop effective programs, projects, and initiatives that demonstrate a high likelihood of success.
- Gather data and prepare reports to meet grant and project requirements.
- Submit periodic reports to local, state, and federal agencies as mandated by grant guidelines.
- Assist in the creation and submission of purchasing requisitions for grant-related projects.
- Draft specifications for the procurement of necessary equipment and services.
- Facilitate coordination among local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance with grant regulations and readiness for audits.
- Attend relevant local and regional meetings focused on grant and project management.
- Utilize online grant management systems for the development, submission, documentation, and closure of grant projects.
- Maintain necessary documentation to support deliverables.
- Provide status updates on grants and projects through written and oral reports as required.
- Participate in emergency management activities during local disasters as directed by county management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Management, Business Administration, Criminal Justice Management, Accounting, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Psychology, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with state and federal grant systems is preferred.
- Experience in grant writing is essential.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Basic accounting and auditing skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with the public, colleagues, and elected officials.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines is crucial.
SALARY RANGE: $34.61 per hour, commensurate with qualifications.
