Job Summary

The Estimator/Project Manager is responsible for generating new sales, bids, and client relationships, as well as providing overall direction for each project in a proactive and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop accurate, complete, and timely bid proposals
  • Generate new sales and clients through inside and outside sales techniques
  • Examine blueprints to determine cost
  • Coordinate all necessary paperwork and prepare submittals and shop drawings
  • Schedule and attend pre-construction and weekly jobsite meetings
  • Perform regular jobsite visits and purchase, track, and schedule material deliveries
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and maintain and monitor job progress reports and jobsite records
  • Assist Field Superintendent in managing job costs and billings as necessary
  • Resolve technical or contractual issues and prepare and submit RFI's and change order estimates
  • Submit monthly invoices based on contract requirements and assure customer expectations are being met
  • Conduct post-job reviews and attend weekly Roofing Department meetings
  • Pursue ongoing professional development training and abide by and enforce all OSHA and Houck safety guidelines
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Comparable experience
  • Ability and flexibility for frequent travel
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as on-site at construction locations. The use of computers, printers, cell phones, telephones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines is required. Other functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles.

  • Work outdoors
  • Sit or stand for significant periods of time (4-8 hours)
  • Typing on and looking at a computer
  • Talking on the phone/cellphone
