POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist II (CNS II) plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care in alignment with the Texas Nursing Practice Act and the standards set forth by Harris Health Nursing Services. The CNS II independently oversees patient management within their designated clinical setting while appropriately seeking guidance when necessary.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Certification/Training:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current nursing license in Texas; certification in Basic Life Support is mandatory.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of one year of full-time experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Leadership Experience: Not a prerequisite.
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in a second language is advantageous.
  • Capable of accurately conveying clinical information.
  • Competence in mathematics, medical terminology, and computer skills.
  • Educational Background:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • WORKING HOURS: Availability for weekends, holidays, flexible shifts, and on-call duties.
  • REPORTING TO: Assigned Supervisor/Manager.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Yes.
