Job Summary

Helio Health is seeking a dedicated Peer Specialist to join our team in Syracuse, NY. As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in recovery from substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with individuals to develop personalized recovery plans
  • Link patients to community resources and support services
  • Teach coping skills and provide non-clinical crisis support
  • Accompany individuals to medical appointments and court appearances
  • Engage individuals with formal recovery support services
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalency required
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or OMH Peer Certification required within six (6) months of hire
  • One year of Health or Human Service experience preferred
  • Valid NYS Driver's License required
