Job Summary:
The Roustabout Crew Pusher is accountable for overseeing a team of roustabouts engaged in a variety of oilfield services, which encompass new well construction, maintenance, and additional roustabout tasks. The role requires proficiency in operating diverse equipment, including tractors, trucks, trailers, and maintenance tools. This position provides hands-on leadership to roustabout laborers, ensuring that all operations are conducted efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver ongoing training and mentorship to Roustabout Laborers, fostering skill development and promoting safety standards.
- Facilitate transportation to and from job sites as necessary, utilizing company vehicles and trailers, which may necessitate a commercial driver's license.
- Ensure secure and compliant transportation of equipment required for tasks, adhering to company policies and DOT regulations.
- Oversee the provision of essential safety and work equipment for the crew, ensuring all tools and PPE are regularly inspected and maintained.
- Conduct thorough Job Safety Analyses and Pre-Job Safety Meetings to identify hazards prior to commencing work.
- Accurately complete and submit Field Tickets or other documentation reflecting crew work hours.
- Maintain effective communication with field management regarding job progress, hazards, and crew needs.
- Adhere to all company and location-specific safety and DOT policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven ability to supervise Roustabout Laborers, ensuring safety and skill enhancement.
- Experience in setting up pumping units, batteries, and treaters, along with maintenance tasks on wells.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to ensure equipment operates effectively.
- Resourceful in coordinating equipment for consecutive jobs as requested by clients.
- Commitment to delivering quality services and products to clients.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment commonly utilized in the oil and gas sector.
- Basic mathematical skills for common calculations.
- Professional demeanor and motivation to complete assigned tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Competence in safely operating all vehicles and equipment related to roustabout duties.
- Proficient in using computers and software, including Microsoft Office and timekeeping programs.
- Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues, management, and other relevant parties.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a roustabout role.
- Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
- Basic understanding of construction and roustabout tools and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of supervisory experience in a roustabout capacity.
- Valid Class A CDL.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position require the ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, and crouch for extended periods. The role necessitates manual dexterity and coordination to operate industrial machinery. Employees must be capable of lifting and moving up to 65 pounds unassisted. Adequate visual acuity, hearing, and communication skills are essential for performing all required tasks safely.
Work Environment:
This position typically operates in a loud outdoor environment, often at client facilities or job sites, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions. Employees may encounter moving machinery, mechanical parts, and hazardous materials. The role may require long hours and frequent weekend work.
