Job Overview

The Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for developing, executing, and sustaining our preventive maintenance strategy. This role involves close collaboration with the maintenance team to ensure that proactive maintenance is efficiently planned and scheduled, thereby reducing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and uphold the preventive maintenance and lubrication strategies, ensuring all processes and documentation are in place.
  • Generate metric calculations and reports to track maintenance performance.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to its fullest potential.
  • Manage and prioritize work orders, determining the best approach for completion while ensuring necessary documentation and parts availability.
  • Assist in developing job plans to maintain consistency in work procedures among mechanics.
  • Collaborate with maintenance management and procurement to oversee spare parts inventory for production lines and facility maintenance.
  • Lead initiatives in proactive manufacturing principles, including lean methodologies and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Maintain maintenance supplies by managing orders, tracking inventory, and coding purchases accurately.
  • Document and manage inventory of materials and parts within the CMMS.
  • Conduct recordkeeping, filing, cycle counting, and year-end inventory audits.
  • Coordinate the stocking of spare parts in the designated storage area.
  • Support the food safety program and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical program is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance roles.
  • Experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in CMMS and overall computer skills.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance principles, planning methods, and scheduling tools.
  • Familiarity with the tools, equipment, and safety procedures relevant to mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance.
  • Ability to develop programs and procedures independently.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen, explain, and collaborate effectively.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
