As a research focal point, iCGD emphasizes the examination of patients and healthy individuals from various regions to investigate the origins, implications, prevention, and treatment of genetic disorders.

The ideal candidate will possess a character that appreciates and navigates the diverse cultural contexts inherent in this position.

Expertise in project management—covering scope definition, execution, monitoring, and deliverable control—is essential. Furthermore, a comprehensive understanding of hospital operations within research or clinical settings is vital.

The successful candidate will exhibit outstanding organizational and team-building skills, alongside a passion for collaborating with a dedicated team of scientists and administrative professionals.

This position involves managing a substantial budget, requiring a solid understanding of federal, divisional, and institutional policies. A high level of initiative, independent judgment, discretion, and professionalism are critical attributes for this role.

The iCGD unites top-tier clinicians and researchers with an unwavering commitment to multidisciplinary research, innovative technology, and advanced methodologies.

This role will oversee the implementation of research, educational, and clinical programs aimed at fostering sustainable capacity in genomic medicine and genetic research, ultimately contributing to enhanced public health outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide managerial, logistical, and administrative leadership.
  • Manage projects on behalf of the Director and other senior leadership.
  • Develop and oversee standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Supervise the iCGD website, Cloud accounts, and GitHub repositories.
  • Assess staffing requirements, collaborate with HR, and engage in recruitment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and IRB protocols.
  • Guide staff (e.g., project coordinators, data managers, research assistants) in achieving necessary competencies, training, and certifications.
  • Facilitate communication and problem-solving by conducting regular staff meetings and providing ongoing support.
  • Act as a liaison between financial management and research teams regarding project status and funding timelines.
  • Manage course and lecture series aimed at training healthcare professionals to address genetic and genomic challenges, serving as the primary contact for speakers and participants.
  • Address technical issues promptly as they arise.
  • Organize meetings with collaborators and visiting delegations, whether online or in-person.
  • Oversee the schedule of the iCGD's director or supervise the assistant responsible for this task.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. Familiarity with sequencing technologies is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Experience in budget oversight.
  • Familiarity with the IRB and grant application processes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to effectively achieve project objectives.
  • Knowledge of Cloud environments is a plus.
