Responsibilities

Position Summary
Acts as a working operations lead for the registration team. Serves as a key resource for inquiries related to the ADT system, Medicaid, self-pay accounts, and insurance benefits. Functions as a liaison among Patient Access representatives, Supervisors, and Directors. Provides expertise in patient access processes within the ADT system and other relevant systems utilized by Patient Access staff; executes all necessary tasks to fulfill departmental operational requirements and objectives. Engages in identifying opportunities for process enhancements and contributes to the development of improved procedures within the revenue cycle.
  • Supervises the daily responsibilities of the registration personnel. Develops the departmental schedule, manages sick leave notifications, and adjusts the schedule as necessary. Acts as a resource for staff regarding all relevant software applications. Assures operational efficiency by performing necessary tasks in the Admitting Department.
  • Completes assigned reporting tasks.
  • Facilitates the training of departmental staff, collaborating with Market trainers to ensure ongoing education within the department.
  • Conducts registrations to maintain proficiency in system requirements and usability.
  • Remains informed about HIPAA, federal and state regulations, hospital policies, and reimbursement criteria. Participates in departmental meetings to enhance interdepartmental communication.
  • Attends payer in-services (as assigned) and departmental meetings to improve communication and public relations skills. Engages in process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma or GED Required

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in registration, financial counseling, or patient account collections, with a strong emphasis on customer service Required.
