About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical/Marine Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and sustaining optimized product lines for the warfighter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and plan mechanical products and systems, including instruments, controls, robots, engines, and mechanical hydraulic or heat transfer systems.
  • Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
  • Design and model in 3D CAD software, utilizing fundamental structural analysis techniques and drafting using CAD software.
  • Provide fabrication support for hardware and end-user support during maintenance availability.
  • Contribute to conceptual design, maintenance support in a marine environment, and integration & test process flow development & execution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution plus 5 years of engineering experience, or Master's degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution plus 3 years of engineering experience, or PhD and 0 years of experience.
  • Experience with design modeling and drawing efforts using 3-D CAD modeling or related tools such as Siemens NX.
  • Active or Current DoD Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain Department of Defense Top Secret with SCI Access and Counter Intelligence Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in Siemens NX CAD/CAM/CAE.
  • Proficient in ANSYS.
  • Mechanical hands-on aptitude.
  • Basic machinist skills, including welding.
  • Experience with shipyard environment and familiarity with the Navy JFMM.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, including schematics and test equipment.
  • Software familiarity, including C and PLCs.
