Job Title: Principal Software Engineer

Oracle is seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our team in building the Oracle Container Instances platform at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

About the Role

We are looking for a talented software engineer with a strong background in cloud computing, containerization, and distributed systems. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable and efficient backend APIs, SDKs, CLIs, and other components of the Oracle Container Instances platform.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-performance backend APIs and services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features and requirements
  • Develop and maintain automated testing and deployment scripts
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code standards
  • Work closely with product owners to understand business needs and develop technical solutions
  • Contribute to the development of technical specifications and designs
  • Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve issues
  • Train and mentor junior engineers to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on cloud computing and distributed systems
  • Expertise in Java, Python, C/C++, or GO programming languages
  • Experience with containerization, orchestration, and cloud infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of database systems, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
