Job Summary

As the Catering Director, you will oversee the Catering Department, managing all aspects including training new staff, coordinating event setups, and supervising temporary personnel alongside their regular duties. You will ensure that clients receive exceptional service during events, which includes meticulous setup, cleanup, and breakdown processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all catering events to ensure quality and satisfaction.
  • Participate in the operational aspects of catering events, including logistics, quality enhancement, sanitation, and facility management.
  • Collaborate with the Chef to develop innovative menus.
  • Train catering staff in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer engagement.
  • Monitor and manage labor and food costs for each event.
  • Maintain effective communication with management, clients, customers, and staff to foster excellent relationships.
  • Assist in overseeing all foodservice-related functions.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years in food service, including at least 1 year in a management role.
  • Experience in various food service environments such as restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, or healthcare.
  • Prior catering experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with food and catering trends, focusing on quality, production, sanitation, and presentation.
  • Strong financial, budgeting, and accounting skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • ServSafe Certification is required.
