We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Specialist to enhance our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Civil/Environmental division by providing essential services during the construction phase, assisting in plan production, processing survey data, and delivering related outputs for civil infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist civil engineers in processing survey information and creating detailed drawings to support the civil environmental department.
  • Collaborate with engineers on the preliminary design and layout of sanitary and drainage systems.
  • Prepare drawings for engineering review and feedback.
  • Create figures and exhibits for engineering reports and initial designs.
  • Develop easement exhibits and property descriptions.
  • Provide construction phase services on various projects throughout the region.
  • Interpret construction plans and documents, calculate quantities, and verify measurements and layouts.
  • Maintain comprehensive daily logs and submit necessary documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with other construction and design personnel as required.
  • Engage professionally with all project stakeholders to resolve issues effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A.S. Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering (design and construction) or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D is essential; familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for sewer inverts and depths.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting construction plans and documents, computing quantities, and verifying measurements and layouts.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain drawing files, daily logs, and records systematically.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with MS Office products including Microsoft 365.
  • Effective communication skills to work productively with all project stakeholders.
  • INDOT Certified Technician, SiteManager, and surveying experience are preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to travel to project sites as necessary.
