Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Equipment Specialist to join our team at Rutland Regional Medical Center. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and performing preventive maintenance on clinical equipment and associated systems used in hospital or clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and inspect clinical equipment and associated systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex medical equipment issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment to prevent malfunctions and extend lifespan.
  • Assist clinical staff in the proper use of clinical equipment and provide technical support as needed.
  • Document all work performed, including maintenance, repairs, and testing results.
RequirementsEducation and Experience:
  • A minimum of 6 months experience in electronics or biomedical technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with hospital clinical equipment is preferred.
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer networks is also beneficial.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and trace circuits on a schematic diagram.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Ability to perform scheduled and on-demand preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Strong customer service skills to interact with clinical staff and patients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft desktop applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
