Job Title: Toddler Assistant Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Toddler Teacher to join our team at the Primrose School of Centerville. As a Toddler Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them.

Job Summary:

The Toddler Assistant Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and care for a group of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Observe and assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis, making adjustments to the lesson plans as needed.
  • Implement the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programming.
  • Plan and participate in parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with the Leadership Team.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and attractive classroom environment that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
  • Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for their behavior.
  • Assist in other capacities as determined by the Director or designee.
Requirements:
  • Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-year degree in early childhood or related field preferred.
  • 4-year degree in early childhood or related field required for Pre-Kindergarten Teachers.
  • 4-year degree in early childhood and certified to teach in the state in which the school operates required for Kindergarten Teachers.
