Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Senior System Protection Engineer III to enhance our Mid Atlantic System Protection team within the Power Sector. This role involves collaboration with a dynamic group of engineers specializing in System Protection and Substation Design, focusing on projects for utility, generation, and municipal clients nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior System Protection Engineer, you will:

  • Provide expert technical guidance and coordination to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives in collaboration with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Prepare and review project scopes and concepts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Serve as the lead engineer on assigned projects, ensuring adherence to quality control and assurance practices.
  • Facilitate effective communication and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Oversee project planning, organization, estimation, scheduling, and monitoring of activities.
  • Support the professional growth of junior engineers through mentorship and training.
  • Assist field personnel during relay testing and commissioning, ensuring compliance with technical standards.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements by attending relevant meetings and conferences.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on protection and control engineering.
  • Proficiency in protective relay engineering principles and short circuit modeling software (e.g., ASPEN, CAPE, SKM).

Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation range for this position is between $85,000 and $150,000, dependent on experience and qualifications. TRC Companies offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
