Position Title: Electric Training Specialist

This role involves the design, development, and delivery of specialized technical training programs for Electric Substation Departments. The specialist will oversee and evaluate training initiatives as outlined in departmental training progression frameworks. Responsibilities include assessing training and orientation requirements for new employees within the department/division, as well as creating and facilitating advanced training sessions for existing operational staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, create, implement, and deliver advanced training tailored to meet the future demands of the organization.
  • Establish standardized testing protocols and performance-oriented training programs to enhance trainees' knowledge, skills, and reliability.
  • Provide analysis and support to relevant departments/employees by evaluating training needs and developing effective programs and reports to aid in problem resolution.
  • Oversee training progression programs for new hires, schedule training sessions, and track competency, including the development and monitoring of LMS learning paths.
  • Investigate innovative methods, technologies, tools, and equipment that can lead to competitive product pricing.
  • Collaborate with operations to secure Subject Matter Expert (SME) support as needed for training initiatives.
  • Act as the lead subject matter expert, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of training programs.
  • Manage the identification and resolution of issues related to union matters and monitor the progress towards resolution.
  • Enhance interdepartmental communication and collaboration by training and mentoring subject matter experts and trainers to develop streamlined training approaches.
Qualifications and Skills

• A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred. Alternatively, an Associate's Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience or a High School/GED with completion of the relevant progression program and 10 years of relevant experience is required.

• In-depth knowledge of specific operational departments and related field tasks, training methodologies, and program development is essential.

• Familiarity with industrial, technical, or adult education principles, program development and administration, as well as engineering and construction techniques is required.

• Experience in a formal management system is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to make decisive actions in emergency situations and collaborate effectively with all organizational levels.
