Job Summary

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Neurology is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Business Operations Representative to join their team at the UHealth Medical Center. This is a full-time position that requires strong administrative and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the prompt resolution of problems related to pre and post care in daily clinical operations.
  • Perform general administrative and receptionist functions, including answering incoming calls, managing patients, and acquiring necessary patient care and records.
  • Assist patients in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner, ensuring adherence to divisional and departmental service standards.
  • Manage expectations surrounding pre and post patient care, obtaining or reviewing patient demographic information, insurance information, and referral numbers.
  • Review clinical records for completeness, including authorization, signatures, missing data, and other patient information.
  • Answer multiple telephones for the department, triage incoming calls, respond to questions, direct calls, and document messages in the appropriate software.
  • Handle incoming phone calls from patients concerning instructions, medication inquiries, laboratory test results, and other related matters, serving as a communication between the physician/clinical staff and the patient.
  • Secure pre-authorization for oral medications and patient procedures, manage the coordination of medical necessity letters, and prepare other documents for patient assistance programs under the supervision of a nurse and/or physician.
  • Actively review and oversee provider clinic schedules to guarantee accuracy, suitable appointment types, and efficient access.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
