Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including air brakes, electrical systems, hydraulic components, engines, and emission-related equipment.
- Address and resolve issues with specialty equipment.
- Respond to emergency road calls or breakdowns as required.
- Order necessary parts and supplies.
- Utilize fleet management software to document repairs and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with the regional fleet manager or supervisor to resolve fleet-related challenges.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on various vehicle types and equipment.
- Perform inspections and document the condition of all equipment.
- Coordinate repairs with external vendors when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations regarding fleet operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
This role involves regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, non-hazardous fumes, and noise.
Candidates should be comfortable working independently and interacting with customers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as company policies, safety rules, and operating instructions.
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and management.
- Capability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in email and internet usage.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the fleet or transportation industry, specifically in medium/heavy truck repair.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Class A or B CDL preferred, but not mandatory.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Prior experience in a fleet or transportation setting is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, is preferred.
- Experience with fleet management software and databases is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to ethical decision-making.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to pass DOT drug screening, medical certification, physical exams, and road tests.
- Must be able to work in a drug-free environment and meet physical demands.
