Position Overview:

This position involves performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of trucks and specialized equipment to guarantee that our vehicles are fully prepared to meet customer needs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including air brakes, electrical systems, hydraulic components, engines, and emission-related equipment.
  • Address and resolve issues with specialty equipment.
  • Respond to emergency road calls or breakdowns as required.
  • Order necessary parts and supplies.
  • Utilize fleet management software to document repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the regional fleet manager or supervisor to resolve fleet-related challenges.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on various vehicle types and equipment.
  • Perform inspections and document the condition of all equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs with external vendors when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations regarding fleet operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
This role involves regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, non-hazardous fumes, and noise.

Candidates should be comfortable working independently and interacting with customers.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as company policies, safety rules, and operating instructions.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Capability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in email and internet usage.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the fleet or transportation industry, specifically in medium/heavy truck repair.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Class A or B CDL preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Prior experience in a fleet or transportation setting is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, is preferred.
  • Experience with fleet management software and databases is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to ethical decision-making.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Ability to pass DOT drug screening, medical certification, physical exams, and road tests.
  • Must be able to work in a drug-free environment and meet physical demands.
