About the Role

In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for fostering and sustaining a residential atmosphere that is inviting, homely, secure, and nurturing. You will champion a collaborative approach to resident services, guiding team members to leverage their skills effectively. Your leadership will ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, boost staff morale and productivity, while also meeting regulatory standards and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to Resident Rights and HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Execute all responsibilities as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
  • Work alongside the Marketing and Wellness teams to assess prospective resident needs and confirm the facility's capability to meet those needs.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and the surrounding community.
  • Engage in weekly customer service planning meetings to stay informed about resident status and ensure the team is responsive to resident needs.
  • Communicate with residents' families when service modifications are necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive and current resident records.
  • Identify opportunities for service enhancement through regular interactions with residents and staff, data analysis, and monitoring of feedback.
  • Address resident and family concerns promptly, striving for satisfactory resolutions.
  • Promote company initiatives aimed at improving residents' well-being and independence.
  • Ensure effective recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes for qualified candidates.
  • Support staff orientation and ensure new team members are adequately prepared for their roles.
  • Oversee ongoing staff education and development, maintaining appropriate training records.
  • Ensure staffing levels align with resident needs, budgetary constraints, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date staff documentation.
  • Lead and mentor the management team by example, fostering teamwork and promoting the facility's customer service philosophy.
  • Encourage staff to deliver consistent, high-quality work and maintain high job satisfaction through regular communication, coaching, recognition of achievements, and learning from experiences.
  • Ensure appropriate responses and follow-ups to on-the-job injuries reported by staff.
  • Communicate and enforce facility policies, ensuring compliance with all licensing and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Manage resources effectively to achieve facility targets, including budget management, resident census, staff retention, customer satisfaction, and wellness.
  • Oversee the upkeep of the facility and grounds to provide a pleasant and secure environment for residents and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Prior management experience in healthcare or a service-oriented business.
  • Experience in budget preparation and management, supervising a team of at least five individuals with diverse responsibilities, and successful interaction with customers (residents, patients, and clients) and the general public.
  • Must fulfill the educational requirements set by the state's assisted living regulatory agencies.
  • Must meet age criteria as per facility policy and state regulations.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain certification as an Assisted Living Executive Director as mandated by state regulations within the allowable timeframe.
  • Meet all health, criminal background check, and drug testing requirements.
