Position: Final Inspection Specialist - All Shifts Available
Note: As a unionized organization, we cannot assure shift preferences after the initial training period on day shift. Shift assignments are determined by seniority, and candidates should be prepared to work evening or night shifts as needed.
Compensation: Starting pay is $20.44 per hour, with contractual pay increases every six months until reaching the maximum rate.

At Canton Drop Forge, you will acquire invaluable experience across our six key market sectors. We are at the forefront of closed die forging advancements for industries including aerospace, oilfield, power generation, mechanical power transmission, off-highway, and railway.
Position Responsibilities:- Conduct inspections of forgings to ensure compliance with specifications, utilizing blueprints and customer requirements, while employing measuring tools to identify defect causes based on knowledge of metal properties and forging techniques.
- Perform hand grinding to rectify surface imperfections and cracks as necessary during the final inspection process.
- Verify the dimensions of forgings using measuring devices such as calipers, gauges, rulers, and templates.
- Examine forgings for surface flaws including scale, laps, and cracks.
- Notify supervisors of any detected defects.
- May inspect, straighten, and grind defects from raw forgings.
- Assess metal objects to evaluate hardness levels using testing machines that apply pressure with a steel ball or diamond point against the surface.
- Measure the diameter of hardness indentations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ability to stand for the majority of the shift.
- Job involves standing, walking, twisting, turning, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the day, using large grinders for extended periods.
- Must endure extreme heat during summer and extreme cold in winter.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
