We are seeking a highly motivated Immunology Bioinformatics Expert to join our team at AbbVie in Cambridge, MA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics and immunology, with experience in developing computational solutions for discovery and translational programs.

The Immunology Bioinformatics Team at Genomics Research Center provides cutting-edge research and development of innovative tools and methods for immunology discovery. As an Immunology Bioinformatics Expert, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing an internal LLM-based tool with necessary prompt engineering for cell-type annotation
  • Evaluating the performance by comparing it to traditional marker-based methods (e.g., SingleR) using public gastrointestinal single-cell RNA-seq data

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Masters or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics or other related field
  • Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
  • Required skills and knowledge include:
    • Proficiency in a programming language, e.g., R or Python
    • Experience with software development in Linux environment
    • Proven experience with single-cell RNA Seq data analysis
    • Hands-on experience of development machine learning/deep learning algorithms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and generate new ideas
  • Willing to be on-site in Cambridge, MA for at least three days a week
