Payroll Specialist/HR Generalist

A great opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Specialist/HR Generalist to join our team at UHY LLP. The ideal candidate will have strong HR experience and compliance knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
- Manage compensation programs, job descriptions, and annual salary surveys.
- Serve as a link between management and employees, handling questions and resolving work-related problems.
- Manage benefits, compensation, safety, and ITAR information for new employees.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
- Manage annual open enrollment and ensure changes are processed within the benefit admin system.
- Maintain medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, STD/LTD, and other benefits.
- Manage third-party sick pay and after-market products, ensuring monthly bills are audited and paid.
- Process 1094/1095 forms for self-funded plans and audit for accuracy.
- Manage Leave of Absence requests for FMLA, Short-term Disability, and Long-term Disability.
- Ensure company compliance with applicable policies, local, state, and federal laws.
- Maintain DOT/FMCSA qualified drivers list and ensure proper documentation is filed.
- Maintain paperwork and drug/alcohol records for FAA MRO Program.
- Maintain valid Permanent Resident Card records for ITAR purposes.
- Process Workers Compensation reporting and required documentation.
- Update PTO balances annually and weekly, applying PTO as required by the Michigan Paid Leave Act.
- File EEO-1/Vets100A annually and maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Manage weekly payroll for both hourly and salary employees.
- Audit payroll data for annual W-2 and 1099 processing.
- Process new hires through e-Verify system and maintain I-9 documentation.
- Process FOC orders, garnishments, levies, medical support, and all wage withholding orders.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of Federal and State employment laws.
- Knowledge of OSHA/MIOSHA standards as it relates to employment policies and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- HRIS software proficiency and experience with various HR systems.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient in MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Outlook, and MS-PowerPoint.
- 7+ years of experience in HR Generalist role.
- 2-4 years of clerical experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4-year college degree and/or exclusive training/experience in all HR subject matter.
