General Overview:

Daily Instruments Corporation is in search of a Purchasing Specialist to enhance our dynamic procurement and production division. The Purchasing team will be tasked with sourcing and acquiring products and/or services. The successful candidate will oversee the purchasing cycle from initiation to completion, collaborating with suppliers, negotiating agreements, and ensuring the prompt delivery of goods to satisfy quality assurance standards, customer requirements, and stringent shipping timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing suppliers based on criteria such as cost, quality, availability, and more.
  • Drafting Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and purchase orders.
  • Supporting the sales team by gathering pricing information from suppliers for their RFQs.
  • Interpreting and comprehending technical drawings and schematics.
  • Collaborating with various departments, including production and operations, to ensure procurement aligns with business objectives.
  • Establishing and nurturing positive, long-term relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiating terms with vendors to secure advantageous agreements for the organization.
  • Coordinating with suppliers to arrange delivery schedules and address shipping discrepancies.
  • Expediting orders from suppliers as necessary.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.
  • Working alongside the accounting department to resolve any invoicing issues with suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in procurement or purchasing is required.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and practices.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Strong technical communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Self-motivated, capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and managing tasks effectively.
