Job Title: Director of Finance

Reports To: Chief Administrative Officer

Location: HQ office in Bentonville, AR

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Position Summary:

The Director of Finance plays a critical role in leading the finance and accounting operations for Water for Good. This position is responsible for charting the financial and operational course of the organization, standardizing and operationalizing financial systems, processes, and procedures globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and analyze spending at field locations to ensure expenditures are within budget.
  • Support effective program execution by collaborating with field finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Utilize the company's ERP accounting system to produce timely and useful reporting, serving as the financial leader of the system and advancing its use for optimization and process elimination.
  • Oversee the global monthly accounting close and annual external audit with an outside CPA firm.
  • Maintain and evaluate the company's global financial systems, policies, and procedures, anticipating and developing scalable global accounting capabilities to support the company's growth with a focus on continuous improvements.
  • Lead the annual global budgeting and monthly forecast planning process.
  • Manage organizational cash flow and cash projections.
  • Collaborate with the CAO to prepare, analyze, and present the monthly Leadership financial review and quarterly Finance Committee review.
  • Support the organization's HR function by managing, analyzing, and maintaining payroll activities.
  • Manage one or more employees by providing workflow direction, feedback, coaching, performance reviews, interviewing, hiring, and other managerial duties as needed to maximize employee potential.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Passion for Water for Good's mission of transforming lives and sharing God's love through sustainable access to safe water, improved sanitation, and hygiene in the places that need it most.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in financial management.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting software, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and financial analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States; no sponsorship will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using ERP accounting systems.
  • Experience using project management software, such as Asana.
  • Hold current CPA/CMA license and MBA.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 20%. Ability to travel internationally and/or domestically as needed.
