Job Summary

Penn State Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including blood banking, coagulation, and microbiology
  • Identify bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, and analyze chemical content of fluids
  • Prepare cells for use in cellular therapies, and cross-match blood for transfusion and organ transplantation
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program
  • Medical Lab Technician Certification through ASCP, AMT, ACHI, or equivalent certification agency
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
