Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Patient First. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to ensure accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, handle, and process specimens for testing, while adhering to laboratory procedures and quality control policies.
  • Perform test analyses, reporting, and record-keeping to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Identify and address any issues that may impact test performance or reporting, and notify the Lab Supervisor as needed.
  • Order and receive laboratory stock as required, and distribute it to the laboratory and treatment areas.
  • Understand and perform all duties associated with the position, as outlined in the checklists.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures, as defined by Patient First and OSHA.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and foster a positive, professional atmosphere.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; keyboarding experience necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential.
  • One year of clerical experience preferred; one year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Minimum 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college, including chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory techniques, or an Associate degree in chemistry, biology, or related science.
  • Registered Medical Technologists (M.T.) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (M.L.T.) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other recognized certification agency preferred.
