Job Summary:

Penn State Health is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team in the Special Hematology Lab. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by performing complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including blood counts, chemistry tests, and microbiology tests.
* Identify bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, and analyze chemical content of fluids.
* Cross-match blood for transfusion and organ transplantation, and aseptically prepare cells for use in cellular therapies.

Requirements:

* Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program (NAACLS/ABHES) or Associate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited college/university with 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semesters of biology, and twelve (12) semester hours of courses in chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination.
* Medical Lab Technician Certification through ASCP, AMT, ACHI or an equivalent certification agency must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
