Position Overview:

The Fund Finance division is responsible for delivering financing solutions at the fund level to private equity firms and other asset managers through structured credit arrangements. This division operates within the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) framework. Team members are dedicated to fostering robust client relationships while maintaining a strong culture of risk management and compliance, which are essential for the success of both our clients and the organization.

Within the broader Fund Finance group, the Fund Solutions team specializes in offering asset managers unique Fund Finance products that include Net Asset Value (NAV) financing, Structured Products (such as Collateralized Fund Obligations/Feeders), Advisory Services, and Capital Raising Solutions. The range of products offered by Fund Solutions encompasses various financing and capital raising strategies that may be appropriate for the bank's balance sheet or for distribution to an expanding universe of non-bank lenders, including insurance companies and private credit investors.

The Fund Solutions team is seeking a proactive and experienced Associate to assist in the origination, structuring, and execution of Fund Solutions products. Given the extensive range of offerings, we are looking for a versatile candidate who can think independently and contribute to the growth of our dynamic team within Fund Finance. Responsibilities will include the full spectrum of Fund Solutions activities, such as client engagement and business development, content creation, structuring NAV loans, executing structured products, credit underwriting, engaging with rating agencies, managing portfolios, and developing internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with clients to assess financing requirements and deliver customized solutions, including structuring transaction terms and drafting term sheets.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including analysis of financial statements, fund documentation, and legal contracts.
  • Draft detailed credit and approval committee memoranda.
  • Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel to negotiate documentation.
  • Support transaction distribution and syndication efforts to non-bank lenders, including formulating syndication strategies and collaborating with lenders to clarify transaction specifics.
  • Negotiate, structure, and implement amendments and modifications to facilities.
  • Monitor the financial performance and internal credit ratings of borrowers and limited partners.
  • Conduct annual reviews.
  • Create pitches and term sheets across the Fund Solutions product spectrum.
  • Assist in the structuring and distribution of structured products.
  • Collaborate on advisory projects.
  • Work closely with rating agencies to secure debt ratings.
  • Partner with analysts and internal stakeholders to manage compliance, booking, and funding processes.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of internal processes and procedures within Fund Solutions.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Investment Banking or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in originating and monitoring subscription facilities, NAV facilities, asset-backed finance, leveraged cash flow lending, securitizations, or other structured products is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with private capital, fund finance, and structured finance sectors, including understanding structures (e.g., waterfall, amortization profiles), investment strategies, cash flows, performance metrics, and various product applications.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in creating pitchbooks using Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload while ensuring quality and consistency. Adaptability and organizational skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in reading, negotiating, and interpreting legal documents.
  • Strong initiative and proactive approach to anticipating challenges.
  • Direct client interaction experience, including engagement with senior decision-makers.
Job Expectations:
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to work over 50 hours per week, depending on workload demands.
  • Completion of FINRA Series 63 (or 66) registration within 90 days of hire, if not transferable upon hire. FINRA-recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Completion of FINRA Series 79 registration within 90 days of hire, if not transferable upon hire. FINRA-recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Completion of Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam within 90 days of hire, if not transferable upon hire. FINRA-recognized equivalents will be accepted.
