Role Responsibilities
The R&D Project Manager is tasked with delivering project management expertise to execute the New Product Development (NPD) and Solutions Delivery Process (SDP) within the EnTech Division, in partnership with Corporate Engineering (CE) team members. This project will influence all divisions within FTI. The Project Manager will spearhead cross-functional project teams, which may include internal staff and/or OEM/supplier resources, to strategize and implement projects effectively.

The R&D Project Manager will collaborate closely with the cross-functional Leadership Team to ensure appropriate resource allocation, establish timelines, manage project budgets, and communicate the Project Team's progress and status. The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of successfully managing projects through a well-defined, stage-gated product development or solutions delivery process from inception to market launch, along with experience in leading, motivating, and managing technically-oriented cross-functional teams to achieve projects that significantly impact company goals.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management, Project Management, Analytics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years of demonstrated experience in Project Management.
  • Recent experience in managing medium to large-scale projects with medium to high complexity.
  • Management of medium to large project teams.
  • Experience in managing and controlling project budgets ranging from $500k to $2M.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience in engaging with Executive Leadership.
  • Required Certification: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Preferred experience in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Preferred familiarity with Stage-Gate NPD Process and SDLC.
  • Travel: 15-20% may be required.
  • Work Schedule: Standard hours are between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work as needed to meet business demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies, specifically PMBOK, NPD, and SDP.
  • Collaborate with Project Sponsors and Solution Owners to ensure project scope is clearly defined and documented.
  • Engage with Operations and Estimating teams to develop project budgets and costs for client submissions.
  • Oversee all aspects of cost management, including estimating, funding, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Manage invoices, purchase orders, contracts, and statements of work.
  • Establish and implement a project communication plan, including meeting facilitation and presentations.
  • Demonstrate effective team leadership, stakeholder management, process adherence, and risk management capabilities.
  • Proactively enhance project timelines through effective schedule management and progress tracking.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with approved budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Engage team members to identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve conflicts as necessary.
  • Utilize motivational techniques to guide project teams towards achieving goals and milestones.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering staff to manage project budgets and costs.
  • Document project scope for customer review and ensure all design assumptions are recorded to mitigate risks.
  • Network and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Plan, organize, and staff projects to ensure completion that meets safety, profitability, timeliness, quality, and customer expectations.
  • Promote a positive company culture by fostering constructive employee relations.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
