Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach American Sign Language (ASL) courses at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will have a strong background in ASL and experience in teaching adult learners.

Responsibilities
  • Teach ASL courses to students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote student learning and retention.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees to promote student success.
Qualifications
  • Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • OR - Any bachelor's degree and two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment or the equivalent.
  • OR - Any associate degree and six (2) years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment or the equivalent.
Working Conditions

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $88.30 per hour.
