Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) courses at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction and effectively engaging with and facilitating authentic learning for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ESL courses, including grammar, reading, writing, and speaking
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to curriculum development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve student outcomes
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics, or a related field
  • OR Bachelor's degree in TESL, TESOL, English, or a related field with a TESL certificate
  • OR Equivalent (please note that hiring committees review all complete, qualified application packets)
Working Conditions

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $88.30 per hour.
