Position Overview:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Hematology Oncology Acute Care Clinic (ACC) plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive and coordinated healthcare to patients experiencing acute and chronic conditions.

Responsibilities:
The APP will:
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments, diagnosing and managing acute issues for oncology patients.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state laws and departmental policies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to manage hypersensitivity reactions to therapeutic infusions.
  • Facilitate referrals and transitions of care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Provide patient education and counseling.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to Mayo Clinic's policies and standards of practice.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
  • Fulfill other departmental or institutional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner:
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing and Nurse Practitioner program, holding a current RN and APRN license along with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP).

Physician Assistant:
Must have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program, possessing current PA certification from the NCCPA and registration with the state medical board.

Additional Requirements:
BLS and ACLS certifications from recognized organizations and DEA registration are mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and internal equity. Benefits are available for eligible employees.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a Monday to Friday schedule, requiring 80 hours per pay period.
