Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with NOAA's Office of Aquaculture, NCCOS, and Regional Aquaculture Coordinators to identify opportunities for social science and siting analysis tools.
  • Advise NOAA's Office of Aquaculture on data collection needs for Aquaculture Opportunity Areas management and aquaculture siting.
  • Develop guidance documents and protocols for conducting social impact analysis for identifying Alaska Aquaculture Opportunity Areas.
  • Deliver detailed reports providing an analysis of social issues and impacts related to Alaska Aquaculture Opportunity Areas.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Science or related field.
  • Experience in social impact assessment, trade-off analysis, and qualitative research methods.
  • Knowledge of NEPA and ecosystem-based management principles.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Social Science or related field.
  • Experience in Alaska coastal communities.
  • Public trust security clearance.
